The series started out well but the ending was crap. The problem with this series started in the middle of it. Somewhere in there the writer lost the plot. I saw the same thing happen with Y: The Last Man. At some point the writer was so enamored with their own work that they forgot where they were going with the story. That's why there was a shift in the tone of the book. The rest was just a race to finish the story since the writer had no idea what to do before the ending. It's like, you know the beginning and ending to a story but have no idea what is in the middle. That's what happened with Y: The Last Man and Sex Criminals which is sad since both started out well but they just could not finish well.
