Review: The Rights Of Man

The Rights Of Man The Rights Of Man by Thomas Paine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

One part timeless, one part out of it's time

This reads like two books in one. The first half is about the theory of what the Rights of Humanity should be. The second half is about what the writer recommended be done in his present day. Reading that part now has no application to us today. If you enjoy the first half of the book you will not get the same feeling reading the second half. I think the last chapter especially is just wishful utopian thinking that was never possible even in the writers time. Overall the book is fine after all of that.
